Nancy Gallagher Brandon, 84, entered her eternal rest and was reunited with her Savior on September 28, 2025.
Born in Queens, New York, Nancy moved to Florida more than 70 years ago. She attended Brandon High School, Class of 1959, where she was a member of the Color Guard team. On November 1, she and her beloved husband, Lee, would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. A former member of Bell Shoals Baptist Church, Nancy cheerfully served as a Sunday morning door greeter and faithfully volunteered on the church’s prayer line during the week. She lived her life guided by her deep love for Jesus.
Nancy was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest joy was her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always cherishing special moments together. Known for her kindness, warmth, and southern hospitality—even as a New York native—she was a loyal friend to many and touched countless lives with her generosity of spirit.
She had a love for fashion, enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises, and treasured her time in the mountains of Blairsville, Georgia. Her dogs filled her life with unwavering love, joyful moments, and loyal companionship. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and welcome. Nancy especially loved Christmas and Easter, hosting her family each year for these celebrations. Every Christmas, she joyfully organized a birthday party for Jesus, complete with a cake, family singing “Happy Birthday,” and a reading of the story of Christ’s birth.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Lee of Riverview/St. Petersburg; her daughter, Diana Brandon Bonnell (Ray) of St. Petersburg; her son, Lee Brandon Jr. (Susan) of Riverview; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday October 4, 2025 at Southern Funeral Home in Riverview, Florida, Visitation starting at 12pm, Service to start at 1pm, followed by a private graveside service at Brandon Family Cemetery in Brandon, Florida.
