Obituary for Nancy Cleveland
Nancy Cleveland, 83, of Sun City Center, Fl passed away peacefully in the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday, June 2, 2021. Her beloved, eldest son, John kept vigil at her bedside every night of her stay at LifePath Hospice House, to ensure she was not alone even when she slept. He was with her when she slipped away, her journey in this world, complete. Nancy was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Irish to the bone and proud of it. In April 1958, she married the love of her life, Jack Cleveland, who preceded her in death in 2002. Together, they spent a lifetime of love, raising a brood of seven, rowdy children, enjoying their large, extended family, traveling and having a lot of laughs, so many laughs. We know Jack was waiting in joyous anticipation for her at those Pearly Gates, their reunion finally complete. Nancy is survived by her seven children and their spouses whom she loved just as much as her own, sometimes even more than her own! John (Patty), Tom (Melanie), Dennis (Deborah), Joann (Bill), Jean (Justin), Carol, and Baby Beth (Scott). She was also very proud of her 18 grandchildren and loved them very much. And this past year she was fortunate enough to be blessed by two great grandsons. She also leaves behind two sisters and one honorary sister, Sister Margaret Wright, Sister Anna Doyle and Kathy Wright, along with Jack’s siblings, who she considered her own family, too. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mary Margaret Wright, her brother, Skip, her baby daughter Amy and of course, her beloved Jack. Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm at Southern Funeral Care in Riverview on Monday, June 7th. A funeral Mass will be held in her honor at Nativity Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 8th at 10:30 am.
