Michelle Lorraine Cherney, born April 23, 1976, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Carol E. Cherney & Edward W. Hovestadt. Sister to: Cheryl (Hovestadt) Aldrich, Lee (Hovestadt) Steines, Edward J Hovestadt, Kelly (Hovestadt) Botana, Alan J Cherney, and MaryRose Hovestadt. Step-Sister to Susan Bryson, Patricia D Shaw, Dawn M Campbell.

Michelle attended Boston Public Schools and graduated in 1994. In 2004, Michelle began her journey in Faith with the Lighthouse Church on Cape Cod, MA, she entered Bible study, which she continued throughout her life. Michelle enrolled in Cape Cod Community College 15 years later, and she graduated 2011 with her associate degree in liberal arts.

She enrolled at the University of South Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2013 with a BA in Education. Deciding to stay in Florida, she was employed by Hillsborough County Public Schools after graduation.

Michelle Cherney, a beloved sister and friend, passed away at 47. Born in Massachusetts, she grew up in a large and loving blended family. Michelle's teenage years were filled with excitement, marked by her infectious spirit. Moving to Florida for college, she became a dedicated high school English and Reading teacher, known for her unwavering support. Michelle's faith, generosity, and compassion left an indelible mark on those she touched, and her memory will be a source of comfort and strength for all who mourn her passing.

Michelle loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and she loved God’s Word. She was a humble, gentle woman, a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what an eternal impact she had on her family, friends, and students. She was a blessing to all who were lucky enough to cross paths with Michelle.
