
Obituary for Mary Lou Burns
BURNS, Mary Lou, 78, of Brandon, peacefully ascended into heaven Sunday, April 1, 2018. Born in Washington, D.C., she was preceded in death by her parents, Llewelyn Howard and Mary Frances Nimmo and brother, Richard Allen Howard. She is survived by her devoted husband of 29 years, Douglas; children, Kevin (Edna) Amos, Kimberly (Wayne) Krueger, Kara (Anthony) O’Neal; step-daughter, Robin Kohler; grandchildren, Sebastian, Deanna, Christian, Jennifer, George, Nevaeh; two great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Campbell; former daughter-in-law, Gina Antunez ; dear friend of 40 years, Michele Landert, along with numerous extended family and friends. After working at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. for several years, Mary and her family moved to Florida in 1973. She later went to work for the Tampa Police Department and retired in 1998 after 20 years. Mary will be remembered for her great zest for life, her ready smile and her gift for connecting with people and never knowing a stranger. Simply, Mary is irreplaceable.
