Searcy, Mary Diane, 80, of Brandon, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born in Tampa, Florida on April 17, 1945. She spent her childhood in Tampa, FL. She studied at the University of South Florida. She was a long time member of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church. After marrying Perry Searcy in 1965 at the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church, they left Tampa to follow Perry’s career with IBM to upstate New York. Perry finished IBM computer classes in New York and they relocated to the Aeronautical Space Center in Huntsville, Al. She and Perry decided to return to Brandon, FL so Diane could pursue a career in Interior Design. This career took full advantage of Diane’s superior, “God Given” talents. She also had a very strong work ethic. These attributes provided her with many years of business successes, winning many awards, including national design honors.
After moving to Brandon, she became a member of First United Methodist Church of Brandon to fill a needed role of teaching early school children the basics of Christ’s life and the meaning of His time on this earth. This gave an early picture of the type of mother she was going to be. God was always going to be foremost in her life. She was going to be a loving and caring mother.
