Marilyn R. Tosi went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 24, 2026. She is now free from the health challenges she faced and rests in eternal peace.
Marilyn was born on June 22, 1951, to George and Gladys (Brown) Roberts of Alfred Maine. She was the eldest of three daughters. She graduated from Sanford High School in Sanford, Maine, and continued her education at Plus Gray School of Business in Portland, Maine, as well as Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York.
On August 12, 1978, she married David V. Tosi, beginning a life devoted to faith, family, and ministry. Together, they faithfully served churches across the country through Village Missions and beyond. Their ministry as a married couple started at Stonyford Community Church in Stonyford, California; Chapel of the Lake in Lake St. Louis, Missouri; and Sunnyside Community Church in Portland, Oregon.
After their time with Village Missions, they were called to pastor Valley Bible Church in Middlebury, Vermont, bringing them closer to their families in New England. They later served for 11 years at First Baptist Church in Asbury Park, New Jersey, followed by ministry at First Baptist Church of Paden City, West Virginia. Their final call to pastoral service brought them to Richfield Springs Bible Church in Richfield Springs, New York, where they remained until retirement.
Marilyn embraced her role as a pastor’s wife and homemaker with grace and devotion. She loved serving others, often welcoming church family into her home and around her dining room table for warm, home-cooked meals. Each year, she joyfully hosted Christmas open houses over several evenings so all could attend and feel welcomed.
She dedicated 22 years as an Awana Cubbies Director, faithfully poured into children through Vacation Bible School each summer, served as a church secretary in multiple congregations, and used her musical gifts as an organist and pianist in several churches.
While serving in Vermont, their family was blessed with the addition of their son, Toby Luman. Later, while in Richfield Springs, New York, they welcomed their son, Samuel Tosi.
As Marilyn entered Heaven’s gates, her loved ones find comfort in knowing she heard the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, David Tosi; her sons, Toby Luman and Samuel Tosi; her grandson, Evan Riley; her sisters, Joyce (Phillip) Violette of Shapleigh, Maine, and Ellen (Paul) Morrison of Alfred, Maine; along with several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends whose lives she touched through her faith and kindness.
A celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Simmons Loop Baptist Church, Riverview, Florida.
