Margaret (Peggy) Ahearn Tyska, 93, joyfully went home to the Lord on Friday, November 10, 2023, in Brandon, Florida. She was born March 22, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, the oldest of four siblings of John Richard Ahearn and Lillian Bell Elliott Ahearn. Peggy is predeceased by her husband Stanley (Stan) F. Tyska, brother Terrance Ahearn, sister Rita Ahearn Rea and grandson Stefan Michael Tyska. Peggy moved to Florida in 1963 with her husband and first four children. The family settled in Brandon in 1964. She was an active member of Nativity Catholic Church, serving as a Lecture and Eucharistic Minister; was a member of St. Anthony’s Circle, the Bridge Club and Bible Studies. Peggy was a teacher and had a love of reading that she shared and encouraged in others. She was the first librarian for Nativity Catholic School for twenty-five years and instrumental in transitioning the library and school classrooms to the computer age in the 1980’s. Peggy was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother of six, grandmother of fourteen and great-grandmother of one. She was intelligent and never tired of learning. Peggy was in some ways, ahead of her time. She attended DePaul University, Chicago and completed her BS degree at University of South Florida.
