Obituary for Margaret Carol Walker
Margaret Carol Walker, of Brandon, FL, passed away on August 11, 2021. She was 82 years old. Margaret was born on January 23, 1939, in Tampa, FL. She grew up in Brandon, FL. Margaret graduated from Brandon High School and married her High School sweetheart, Johnnie “Wayne” Walker. Margaret was the President of Thespians and Future Business Leaders of America. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Future Homemakers of America. Margaret worked 15 months under Civil Service for the Navy Department in Washington, D.C. She also volunteered at Brandon’s Delta Beta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honor Sorority for Women Educators. Margaret worked for GTE Federal Credit Union and was a Physical Education teacher at Kingswood Elementary School. Margaret achieved 2 Master’s degrees from the University of South Florida. Throughout her life, she was a swim instructor for children and taught at Plant City High School. In addition, Margaret and her husband, Johnnie “Wayne” Walker, purchased two Pinch A Penny franchises, which they owned and operated for nearly two decades. Margaret and Wayne eventually retired and traveled yearly to Alaska and North Carolina. Her husband, Johnnie “Wayne” Walker, passed away in 2010, leaving Margaret an abundance of loving and cherished memories. Margaret was predeceased by her son, David Wayne Walker; husband, Johnnie “Wayne” Walker and son-in-law, Kirby Collin Rainsberger. She is survived by daughter, Katherine Hegenauer Rainsberger; granddaughters, Brittny and Shelby Hegenauer; sister, Marian Coleman and brother, John “Lee” Cornett. A private service will be held in North Carolina with immediate family.
