Marcelle Baxter Hunt, 101, of Plant City, Florida went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2025. She was born in Tampa, Florida on November 18, 1924, to Horace E. and Eulalea Whatley Baxter. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 48 years, James W. Hunt (Bill); two sisters, Adeline Baxter Bailey and Theresa Inez Samuels; and her son, Michael David Hunt.
She worked for the telephone company as an operator after graduating from Hillsborough High School. She was a bookkeeper for her father and husband for many years living in Florida, Texas and North Carolina. She and Bill relocated to Plant City, Florida in 1974 and established J.W. Hunt Produce Company, where she worked until retiring at age of 79 years old.
Her travels took her all over the 48 continental United States. She was extremely generous and loved her family with her whole heart.
She is survived by her son, James B. Hunt (Karen); Grandchildren, Ryan Hunt and Jessica Fitchko (Shawn); Great-grandchildren, Hannah Hunt and Griffin Hunt.
She will be laid to rest in a private service at Garden of Memories, Tampa, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind.
