Luz Esther Rodriguez, 77, of Tampa, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. A native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, she had resided in the Tampa Bay area since 1988 before moving to Pennsylvania in the more recent months. Luz was of the Pentecostal faith, she loved to cook and most of all, she loved her family. She married her husband in May of 1963, and they were devoted to each other for sixty-one years.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gilberto Rodriguez; son, Gilbert (Silvia) Rodriguez; daughters, Elizabeth (John Kunzmann) Gonzalez and Ivonne (Samuel) Class; sisters, Maria Torres, Milagros Dominguez and Iris Dominguez; eight grandchildren, Tania Marie Class, Roberto A. (Yaritza) Gonzalez, Michael Rodriguez, Samuel (Stefanny Andrea) Class, Jr., Jasmine (Tyrone Aaron Smith) Rodriguez, Gilbert (Gina Marie Riccio) Rodriguez, Erica Liz (Josh) Rivera, and Cristina (Raymond David) Otero and eighteen great-grandchildren, Jayvyan Santiago, Alexander Santiago, Xavier Santiago, Isabella Lugo-Class, Jazlyn Rivera, Jaeliana Rivera, Jenaliza Rivera, Joylanis Rivera, Jenibelle Rivera, Journey Rivera, Robert Antonio Gonzalez, II, Raymond Davinchi Otero, Roman Alexander Otero, Trinity Ava Smith, Mason Anthony, Stephen Klay Class, Myco Jacob Class and Mark Anthony Aviles.
A service for Luz will be held at Southern Funeral Care in Riverview, FL, on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11 AM with family receiving friends one hour prior. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
