Obituary for Loretta Gayle Coley Lipsey
Known by most as “Nana”, was taken home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 15th, 2021. She was beloved by her family to whom she would always declare: I love you more than the whole world. Those words are forever in our hearts and will motivate us to keep that love alive through all of our generations and pass it on to future ones.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she is survived by the one and only love of her life and husband of 55 years; Wayne Lipsey; two children; Tony Lipsey (Angie Lipsey) and Laura Lipsey Hayes (Matthew Hayes), eight grandchildren; Taylor Davis (Jaryd Davis), Trey Lipsey, Bailey Lipsey, Kayla Rogers (Jared Rogers), Kendall Hayes, Courtney Koutz (Kaleb Koutz), Cassidy Hayes, Rhett Hayes, one great granddaughter; Sunny Davis, and 5 siblings; Gary Coley, Stanley Coley, Mary Daughtry, Kaye Parham, and Cleone Boyd.
She was a volunteer at Bethel Baptist Church for 20 years teaching the foundation of her faith to the “Cubbies” toddler class at the church. She served in the Ladies Ministry and directed numerous plays and cantatas for the church. She cooked meals for family, friends or strangers anywhere and anytime there was a need. No one ever left hungry from Nana’s kitchen. She could comfort with more than just food, and her words and hugs will be felt forever by those who knew her. Loretta’s life was a true inspiration and we will do our best to live up to the legacy she has left.
The Memorial Service will be live streamed on You Tube on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at 3:00 pm.
