Linda Louise Broady, age 75, unexpectedly entered eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 19, 2026 in Riverview, Florida. She was born in Sendai, Japan on June 15, 1950. She found great joy in time spent with her grandchildren and cherished moments of leisure and companionship with friends.
Linda enjoyed a successful career as an engineer with Ford Motor Company for over thirty years, where she distinguished herself in a traditionally male-dominated field through dedication, intelligence, and perseverance. In May 2025, Linda fulfilled a lifelong dream by returning to Japan to visit her birthplace in Sendai.
She is survived by her two children, Chelsea Rivera (Richard Rivera) of Riverview, Florida and Dr. Autumn Broady (Kendell Haynes) of Moraga, California; grandchildren Greyson Broady-Alvarado, Amina Broady-Haynes, Jaeli Rivera, Anivia Rivera, and Raiden Rivera.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Perry Koonce, daughters Latonya Koonce and Michelle Koonce, adopted mother Agnes Moore, biological mother Seiko Kamii, and biological father Hubert Byrd. Donald Broady, her husband of 47 years, unexpectedly also passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Throughout her life, Linda relied on her determination and confidence to endure all that she experienced. A private celebration of life will be held later in the year. Linda’s final resting place will be in the ocean off the island of Molokai, Hawaii. Linda felt most at home while watching Molokai's sunsets and playing Mahjong alongside the ocean breeze. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that loved ones remember Linda in quiet reflection and loving thought.
