Dr. Reverend Leon Kilpatrick, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on December 5, 2024, at the age of 65.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Sheenkai, mother Earlene Dorsey, children, sisters, brothers, countless grandchildren, adopted family members, and friends. A proud United States Army veteran, Leon served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. Leon's pursuit of knowledge led him to impressive academic achievements. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree and went on to earn a master's degree. His dedication to theological studies was recognized with an honorary doctorate in Theology.
Leon was then ordained as a minister, he presided over wedding ceremonies in multiple states. He was also the founder of multiple ministries including, Addicts of Christ. A ministry dedicated to helping individuals struggling with addiction find purpose and achieve sobriety.
Leon’s loving nature, intelligence, and resourcefulness will be missed by all. His boisterous laugh, generosity, and love of the Raiders will never be forgotten by anyone he met. His impact on the community whether it was providing food and clothes for those in need, repairing anything that was broken, or providing a laugh or a hug is a void that will be hard to fill. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Above all, Leon loved God, his wife Sheenkai, the Raiders football team, his family, sweets, and roller coasters - in that order! His love for his family and friends was evident in his frequent reminder: "Have I told you today that I loved you? I love you..."
