Obituary for Leola Marie "Lola" Jones
Leola “Lola” Jones our loving mom passed away on June 29, 2022. Although her earthly body has given out, her ever giving spirit, big heart, and beautiful smile will forever be remembered by everyone who met her. Lola was always the brightest when she was with her family. She loved being a wife to Phil for 58 years. She was an amazing mom to Tony, Anji and Renee. Her sparkle could not be contained when she was with her grandchildren Cassie, Bryan, Cory, Erik, Sean, Kayla, Gabby and Julie. Her giggles of pure joy and delight for her great grandchildren Ryder, Skylynn, Kaden and John still echo through our hearts.
Her loving heart and immense compassion led her to a 30 year career as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. She received great joy from helping others and enjoyed hearing all the stories and adventures of the ones she cared for. She was so thankful for the people she met during her career.
Lola was born in Louisville, Kentucky and was blessed to be part of a large family. She said of having eleven siblings that she was never bored because there was always a sister or brother nearby. She left Louisville when she married Phil and they raised their family in Florida.
Lola always opened her home and heart to everyone she met. No one ever left her home hungry or thirsty. She always had a smile handy for anyone who needed it. She enjoyed gardening, going to the beach and dancing around the house to her favorite songs on the radio.
Lola and her family extend their deepest gratitude to Cypress Creek Assisted Living and Life Path Hospice for all of the loving care and compassion they provided.
Lola’s gracious and loving spirit lives on in her family and friends. Mom you will forever be our North Star.
A Celebration of her Life will be held 6:00 P.M. Friday, July 8, 2022, at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview.
