Obituary for LeRoy Gonzalez, Jr.
Leroy Gonzalez Jr., Born October 7, 1938 and passed January 15, 2022. He is survived by his son, Richard Gonzalez (Teresa); daughter, Carol Sanelli (Joseph); daughter, Stephanie Centella (Thomas) and son, John Stringfield (Sheila). Preceded in death by daughter, Suzanne Williams (Matt). LeRoy has 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He served on the Naval ship U.S.S. Edmonds, then started his own business becoming a real estate developer. If you asked a hundred people who Leroy Gonzalez Jr. was, they’d all give you a different story. My superhero, best friend, a farmer, a gardener, negotiator, a genius and the hardest working man I know. Dad was all of them. He always had a story to tell. He never met a stranger. He had a passion for cars, especially Corvettes and red Ford trucks. He played the tough guy but he truly was a loving man. He will be greatly missed by so many. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 21, 2022, at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
