
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Larry Franklin Lawson, who left us
on May 13, 2025, at the age of 80 at James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa. Born in Athens,
Tennessee in 1944 he was the son of the late Franklin W.” Bud” and Lucille Lawson. A
graduate of Meigs County High School. At the age of 17 he dedicated four years of his life to
serving our country in the Airforce, 4453 Fld Maint. Sq. TAC where he exemplified bravery
and commitment. His military service instilled in him a sense of duty that he carried
throughout his life.
After his service, Larry resided in Hillsborough County Florida and transitioned to a
successful career as an owner of a plumbing company, master plumber and a plumbing
estimator. Known for his keen eye for detail and strong work ethic he played a vital role in
numerous projects throughout Florida, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
His passion for his work was only matched by his love for his family.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Larry was a devoted father and husband. He
cherished every moment spent with loved ones, sharing laughter and wisdom, and
imparting life lessons that will resonate for generations. He had a unique ability to make
everyone feel valued and loved.
He is survived by his wife Zenaida (Sandy), brothers Eddy Lawson (Ann), Don Lawson
(Cathy), son Larry Lawson Jr and daughters Debra Miller (Richard) and Cathy McCauley
(Tim), 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends, who
will forever hold his memory in their hearts. A celebration of life will be held at a later date;
to be announced by the family.
