Obituary for Kristopher Samual Monette
MONETTE, Kristopher S., 44, of Lithia, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Kris was born at Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines to his parents Rickie (Moe) and Dedicacion (Dee) Monette. He is survived by his parents, his older brother Command Sergeant Major Walter Tagalicud (Camp Humphreys Korea), younger Sister Sheila Monette (Burke) of Erie Kansas, and Son Byron Stodgel of Galesburg Illinois. As a youngster, Kris was a real adventurer. He and his friends would disappear for hours on their bicycles, exploring the jungles and wilderness around Clark Air Base. Kris was an active swimmer who enjoyed trips to Grande Island at Subic Naval Base and Shark's Cove at San Miguel. He enjoyed sports as a child playing baseball, soccer, basketball, and football. When his parents were assigned to Izmir Turkey, Kris enjoyed exploring the streets of Izmir. He had his favorite street vendor who was always delighted to see Kris and his love for his special Turkish sandwich. Kris also enjoyed going to Ephesus and walking the ancient ruins. After graduating from High School, Kris,joined the U.S. Marine Corp for a single tour of duty. Upon his discharge, Kris returned home and worked for several companies, finally deciding on Premier Beverage (Break Thru) as his profession. Kris liked to live life to the fullest. If he wasn't up in Lake Tahoe snowboarding, he was down in Tampa out spearfishing with his cousin John. Kris also enjoyed bow-hunting in Georgia and hog hunting in his own backyard. He enjoyed going out with his friend Dan and windsurfing the waters of St. Petersburg. His latest passion was bike riding with his friends and enjoyed working on his bike at all hours of the day or night in the barn. Kris so enjoyed and cherished his friends of Bay Area Riders. Kris was a loving and gentle man who loved life and the people he associated with. He had an infectious smile, coupled with the ability to make everyone laugh and have a great time. Kris will be missed greatly by everyone who's life he touched. The enormous outpouring of love from his friends is indicative of his profound impact he had on people. God Bless you Son. Rest in Peace. Gone but never forgotten. A Celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 PM on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Southern Funeral Care with the family receiving friends one hour thirty minutes prior to the service. Due to COVID restrictions, attendance will be limited to 75 people.
