Kris Ann Hering, 61, of Riverview, FL, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024. Born in Lansing, MI, she resided in the Tampa Bay area for almost 40 years. She is survived by her mother, Elaine Marshall; mother-in-law, Stella Hering; son, Trevor Hering; daughter, Emily Hering; brothers, Brady (Yvette) Marshall and Kyle Marshall and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Marshall, father-in-law, Don Hering and grandparents.
Kris was baptized and confirmed Lutheran. She graduated from Waverly High School, where she played the flute in the marching band. A dedicated soccer mom, she always supported her children's passion. Throughout her career as a property manager, Kris' warmth and compassion touched many lives. She loved animals, especially dogs, and she had a passion for rescuing and helping animals in need. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, and friend to many.
Her favorite mantra, "Stay on the Sunny Side," reflected her optimistic outlook on life. Her uplifting spirit brought sunshine into every room she entered, and her genuine kindness touched the hearts of many, leaving behind a ripple of warmth that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service for Kris will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the ASPCA or The National Kidney Foundation.
