Obituary for Kim Suzanne Keebler

Kim Suzanne Keebler [nee Reifsnyder] of Lithia, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 12, 2025. She was born to David and Eleanor Reifsnyder on April 1, 1969 in Brunswick, Maine.

Kim was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin. Her extended family, friends and students valued her presence. Indeed, she left a positive and lasting impression to all who were fortunate to know her.

As a young girl, Kim enjoyed participating in many activities to include soccer, tennis, and orchestra. She played varsity soccer and tennis for the first graduating class of Armwood High School and was a member of Armwood’s first orchestra. Kim loved working at Little Caesars, Olive Garden and O’Charley’s. Kim graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College and later a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida.

Kim was married on July 29, 1995, to her husband Kip. They worked together in the mortgage business and continued to cultivate long-lasting relationships with the Brandon community. After several years in the business world, Kim recognized the need to follow her path in life, which was to educate high school students. Thus, Kim began her teaching career in the Hillsborough County Public Schools system. She taught at Armwood High School, East Bay High School, Bloomingdale High School, making her mark at Newsome High School as a reading teacher. Her colleagues admired her work ethic; her students and their parents valued her intense dedication to assist in their educational journeys. Kim was often professionally recognized and received the Florida District 16 Congressional Teacher Award. She had a brilliant spirit, a radiant smile, a compassionate heart, and a strong Christian faith.

As much as Kim enjoyed teaching her high school students, her family was the center of her world. She loved being a soccer mom to both Kassidy and Ella. She attended many games and supported their elementary, middle school, and high school activities. Kim was so proud of Kassidy when she became a registered nurse and was hired by HCA Florida Brandon Hospital. Ella brought her joy throughout her life as Ella continues to excel at FGCU. Kip, Kim, Kassidy, and Ella were a strong family unit. Abbey, the family yellow lab, was always her close companion.

Kim was preceded in death by her devoted parents Dave and Ellie Reifsnyder; her maternal grandparents Joseph and Laura Pellichero; and paternal grandparents George and Thelma Reifsnyder.

Kim is survived by her devoted husband Kip of almost thirty years, daughters Kassidy and Ella, sister Lisa Reifsnyder [Nathan], brother Scott Reifsnyder [Tiffany], in-laws Ken and Lynn Keebler, brother-law Kent Keebler [Diane], sister-in-law Kristy, Aunt Cathy Dickerson [Steve] and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
