Obituary for Karen Justyna Scheidt
Karen Justyna Scheidt of Temple Terrace, FL, lost her brave battle with COVID early in the morning on Saturday, February 13th. Born on April 5th, 1946 to the late Marty and Miriam Justyna, Karen spent her early childhood in Utica, NY, before moving to St. Pete, FL, graduated from St. Petersburg High School and then Wesleyan College in Macon, GA. A talented artist with a creative mind, she also had a great love of animals - any stray or creature of any sort was sure to find a meal or any needed help from her. She loved to read and travel, enjoyed swimming and golf and the Bucs, had a passion for rock and fossil hunting, and passed great love of all these to her children, the late Justin Scheidt, and Rebecca Scheidt.
In addition to her daughter, Karen is also survived by her son-in-law, Daniel O'Brien of Sylva, NC, nieces Terri and Christi Justyna, brother Dave Justyna, and "Second Daughter" Kirsten Kischuk - Rebecca and Kirsten were treated to many fun trips and adventures by Mom! Also survived by numerous "hairy grandchildren" who she spoiled greatly, and many friends for whom she was so grateful for and who we can never thank enough for all help given to her. We will all greatly miss her, her laugh, openness and friendliness to all.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate her life, when it is safe to do so, due to the pandemic.
