June Elaine Batzel passed away on April 15, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Lyndhurst, Virginia, June lived a life defined by strength, devotion, and deep love for her family. She fought hard until the very end, showing the same strength and resilience she carried throughout her life. Above all, June’s greatest joy was her family. She loved her husband, Dan, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren beyond words. She was the heart of her family—their Queen—and she was deeply cherished in return. June is survived by her husband, Dan, and three of her five children, Lee Rhodes (Robyn), Channon Elaine Rickard-Ryan (Chris) and Tony Rhodes (Thuy) Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren, Ashly (Nathan), children Laila and Caleb, Taylor, Travis, (Travis’s partner Starr Mans preceded him in death on May 22, 2025), children Seth, Leighton, Victor and Trinity, Brittni (Brandy), Quintin and Ava, Diana, and Izzy, Amber (Eric), Kayla (Mike),Jordan, Michael, Eric (Alexia), Ashley, Nick (Maevis), Valary, lovingly named in her honor, Stella, Harper, her sisters, Joyce, Wanda (Phil), Sharon (Kenny), Carolyn (Richard), 2 great-great-grandchildren, 3 nieces and 8 nephews Jeffrey Haynes (Vivian), Mark Haynes, Neal Lobban (Lisa), Brian Lobban (Jennifer), Sherry Reed (Marshall), Pennie Raynes (Dale), David Campbell, Michelle Jordan (Danny), Todd Campbell (Mafalda), Troy Campbell (Lydia), Rodney “Shane” Cline. Honorary grandchildren, Alexia, and Maevis. She is also survived by her life long best friend Jean Howard (Randy). June adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and thought they were all so handsome and beautiful. They were the light of her life and brought her immense pride and joy. June was preceded in death by her daughters Rhonda Rhodes and Shawn Rhodes Hux; her parents, Rexford and Halcie Haynes; her brother, Billie Haynes; her sister, Patsy Lobban; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Art and Dorothy Batzel. June’s life was built on love, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to her family. She created a home filled with warmth and belonging, where everyone felt seen and cared for. Her legacy lives on through every generation she leaves behind, and she will be forever missed, forever honored, and forever loved.
