Juanita Pettus Section
SECTION, Juanita Pettus, 52, of Riverview, passed away peacefully at Sun City Center Hospice House with her loving family and friends at her bedside on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. Her remains were cremated. Juanita was a loving wife and mother and devout Christian. Born in Detroit, MI, the third daughter of the late, James and Juanita Pettus, a graduate of Chadsey High School, Washtenaw Community College and Southern Technical College, she was a retired Staff Sergeant, United States Army Reserve (USAR). Juanita confessed her faith to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Detroit, MI. Prior to her passing on to join her mother and in Heaven, Juanita worked for the Department of the Army as a DA Civilian for over 20 years until her medical retirement in 2012. Her last position was with the 332nd Transportation Battalion, Tampa, FL as the Family Readiness Support Coordinator. Juanita loved to shop, dance and travel. She never met a stranger and was always there for those in need. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Juanita is survived by her husband Gromoski Sr. and daughter, Jennifer, Riverview; three stepsons, Gromoski Section Jr., Houston, TX, Dr. Jarren Section, Dallas, and Donato Section, Fort Worth, TX; stepdaughter and step granddaughter, Cosima and Charlize Section, El Paso, TX; her 104 year old grandmother, Lillian Cobb, Jackson, TN; six brothers, James Winslow, Stephen Pettus, Robert Pettus (Patricia), David Pettus (Yvette), Donald Pettus, and Jerome Pettus, all of Detroit, MI; five sisters, Lolease Brock, East St Louis, Il, Theresa, Kimberly, and Jacqueline Pettus all of Detroit, MI, and Sharon Williams (Charles) Miami; a devoted god-sister, Tonya Horne, Detroit, MI; and a host of dear friends, aunts and uncles, cousins and her nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Tampa Airport Marriott Hotel - Hillsborough Ballroom, 4200 George Bean Parkway, Tampa, FL 33607 with the service beginning at 12:00 P.M. A luncheon reception will immediately follow the service. The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the services provided by Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, FL, and the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to us during our time of bereavement.
