Obituary for Juanita Patricia "Pat" Clements

Pat Clements, 84, of Sun City Center passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025. She was born December 19, 1940 in Tifton, GA. She moved to south Hillsborough County at the age of 10 where she lived the remainder of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, HH (Doc) and Vonda Sumner.

On December 7, 1962 Pat married Malcolm S Clements (Mac) in Gibsonton, Florida. A romance that began at East Bay High School blossomed into a 63 year love story. She was a devoted wife to Mac; whether it was operating their fish farming business or surrendering to the call of full time Christian service as he accepted the Pastorate at First Baptist Church of Gibsonton over 50 years ago, she was faithfully by his side. During their marriage, they welcomed two daughters, Mala Joy Clements Brasington and Latara Clements. She was a loving grandmother to 5 grandchildren (Paige, Leah, Mickey, Sophia, and Wally). She loved babies and never passed up an opportunity to hold and snuggle a little one.

Through the years many talents were evident in her life. She provided detailed secretarial skills to several businesses including serving as the church secretary. She juggled motherhood and operated a successful business with her husband. As a young mom, she enjoyed sewing beautiful clothing for her daughters and herself. She enjoyed sports during high school and was a fan of the Orlando Magic. Her favorite music was gospel quartet music. She and Mac enjoyed time away on gospel singing cruises through the years. The beach was also their favorite place to spend time together.

Ms. Pat loved her church family. She served in so many capacities besides being a pastor’s wife. She taught children, teenagers, and ladies Sunday School classes. She loved to share the story of God’s love and HIs Son, Jesus, with others.

If you knew Ms. Pat, just know she loved you. The family would like to thank you for your love, support, and prayers over the last eight years. It has meant so much.
