Obituary for Josephine "Josie" Frisco
Josephine, “Josie" Frisco, 66, passed away peacefully, at home, on Thursday, April 30, 2020. She was born in Ybor City and lived most of her life in Tampa. She was preceded in death by her parents Carmen Cammaratta and Benny “Red” Frisco. Josie attended Hillsborough High School and Florida State University. She worked for The Brandon News and The Tampa Tribune retiring with over 31 years of service. After leaving The Tribune, she went to work for Time Customer Service and retired second time in September 2018. Until her illness, Josie enjoyed music, sports, traveling and the fellowship of her co-workers and friends. Josie’s family was made up of her many friends. She was a kind and gentle soul who never met a stranger. An avid sports fan she enjoyed Buccaneer Football as a season ticket holder for over 25 years. She never missed a Florida State versus Florida football game either. Music, of all genres, was her passion and her friends will affectionately remember her in music. A gathering of friends and inurnment will be in Tampa at a later date. Memorials can be made in the form of a donation to The Angel Foundation in Brandon, PO Box 3197, Brandon, Florida 33509.
