Joseph Edward Schaaf, 59, of Riverview, FL passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Schaaf, of twenty-eight years. Also surviving are his son, Alexander Schaaf; daughter, Allison Schaaf (Benjamin Lazarus); grandchildren, Angelina, Vincent, and Jaxon; brothers, John (Paula) Schaaf, Dale (Cindy) Schaaf, and Franklin Schaaf; sisters, Kathy (Robert) Langdon, Laura Anselmo, Lisa (Michael) Williams and, Marcy Schaaf. Joseph had numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Constance Schaaf; nephews, Frankie Schaaf and Nate Schaaf; niece, Kamily Smith and sister-in-law, Ann Schaaf. Joseph enjoyed the outdoors much more than being indoors. He spent most of the past several years enjoying watching the Florida wildlife from his favorite chairs he had on his screened patios. When he lived in Michigan, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and good friends, as he could tell some great stories about his adventures. “Joe” was always on call if family and friends needed help with home projects, as that is what kept him motivated over the years. He loved building, repairing and working with his hands and mind to create whatever was needed for those he was helping. His Uncle Joe helped him learn how to do woodworking at an early age. Joseph Schaaf will be remembered by all of us for how he touched each one of us over his short lifespan. Services will be held at a later date in Michigan.
