BURNS, Joseph C., Col, USA (Ret), 77, of Brandon, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, due to a massive stroke. He is survived by the only woman he ever loved, his wife of 51 years, Sue. They raised 5 children (now married): Deborah and Dustin Frazier, Joseph M. and Cindy Burns, Tony and Jamie Burns, James and Cheryl Burns, and Mary and James Wassenaar. He also is survived by 28 grandchildren and 4 of 9 siblings. He served his country with skill and pride for more than 30 years in the U.S. Army.
Funeral Information
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, September 11, 2008, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Drive, Riverview. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 12, 2008, at Nativity Catholic Church, Brandon. Interment with Full Military Honors will be at 1:00 P.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
