Obituary for Joseph Baamonde, Jr.
Joseph Baamonde, Jr., of Brandon, FL, peacefully passed away n Saturday, March 20, 2021, following a long battle with cancer and COVID. Joseph was the only child born to Guadalupe and Joseph Baamonde, Sr. on August 31, 1944. He was a 1963 graduate of Plant High School, Tampa, FL and graduated from Parsons College with a degree in Business where he was an active Theta Chi Fraternity member. He married is college sweetheart, Judy, on June 9, 1972, in Cambridge, Illinois. Joe's career included being a district manager of a pharmaceutical company and later a licensed contractor. In 1980, he was the founder and chairman of Education for Immanuel Lutheran School, Brandon, FL. Joe loved all sports. He was scouted for the New York Yankees, but a serious football injury ended that. Joe loved all kinds of music - he played the clarinet, trumpet and saxophone in Latin Dance bands. He had a very beautiful deep bass voice. He loved God, his family and his country. He traveled around the world on business and was always glad to be back in America. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judith Baamonde; daughter, Jennifer Judith and grandson, Joseph Lamoreaux; and son, John Joseph (J.J.) Baamonde, his wife, Tiffany and granddaughter, Mackenzie. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 10, 2021, at New Hope United Methodist Church, Brandon, FL. Live streaming of the service will be available on Facebook at New Hope United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc.
