Johnathan (John) Michael Smith, 41 years old and lifelong resident of Tampa/Brandon FL, and passed away on February 11th, 2026, at HCA Brandon Hospital following complications from open heart surgery.
He was a 2003 graduate of Hillsborough Baptist School and had worked in customer service.
John is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Delores Fair. He is survived by his mother, Teressa Smith; 2 uncles, Robert (Kellie) Fair of Lilburn GA, and Raymon Fair of Franklin NC; 2 first cousins, Chris (Alaina) Fair of Cumming GA and Kevin (Meghan) Fair of Smyrna GA; and 3 second cousins, Ayden, Cole, and Riley.
John was a friend to many. He was generous and loving. His final selfless act included being an organ donor. He was able to give the gift of sight to others by donating his corneas.
We will miss him deeply but through our faith in God know that we will see each other again one day.
