John Wayne Hull
HULL, John Wayne, 91, of Dover, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at his home. Born in Tampa on August 5, 1924, to John Henry and Madie Marie (Hayman) Hull, he received his public education in Tampa, eastern Hillsborough County "Strawberry Schools" and Plant City High School, graduating in 1942 and getting his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Florida. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, receiving the Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge, he was discharged in 1945 as a result of his disability. He was a public school educator and assistant superintendent. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Louise (Raulerson) Hull, whom he married on June 14, 1948, his parents and his siblings, Wilson, Thelma, Mary and Harry. He is survived by his daughters, Norma Raynes and Karen Hull Jones; grandchildren, Leanna (Steve), Wendy (Brad), Trevor (Heather), Lauren (Matt), Ricky, Jonathan and Shannon and great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Trevor, Jack and Evie.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Southern Funeral Care, 10510 Riverview Drive, Riverview, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Dover Cemetery, Dover, FL.
