John Hubert Payne, Sr.
Payne, Sr., John H., 68, of Plant City, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012. John was a native of Columbus, GA and resided in the Plant City area for most of his life. He was a graduate of Plant City High School in 1962, where he played on the football team. He was a born again Christian and a US Marine Corp Viet Nam veteran. John was a long distance truck driver most of his life and will always be remembered by those who loved him for his great sense of humor and gentle way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Franklin Payne, Sr. and Elma Bondell (Bonnie) Payne, brother, Robert F. Payne, Jr and wife, Linda Allen Payne. He is survived by his daughters, Bobby Jo Payne, Plant City, FL and Joice Marie Massa, Dothan, AL; son, John H. Payne Jr., of Dothan, AL; sister, Marti (Earl) Nellius; 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held 11:00 A.m. Friday, February 24, 2012, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
