Obituary for John Francis Killelea
John Killelea, 58, entered the presence of Jesus Christ on June 28, 2021 in Brandon, Florida after a battle with cancer. He was born on April 24, 1963 in Rockford, Illinois. John was a member of Bell Shoals Church and was employed on their maintenance staff. John was a man that loved God and the Bible. He was filled with wisdom and loved talking about Jesus, baseball, and bowling; however, his passion was his relationship with Jesus Christ and serving Him in the preschool ministry of Bell Shoals where he taught on Sunday and Wednesdays. He never met a person that wasn’t his friend, and he knew each child by name. Even when they left his room and grew up, he knew them and would ask about them. John also loved to play the piano, and often you could find him sitting behind a piano and brilliantly playing at home or the church. He would have a huge smile on his face, and it brought such enjoyment to him and others. John loved people and doing whatever he could to help serve them. John was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. He was adopted by Donald and Jean Killelea. He is survived by two sisters, Susan Whitsitt (husband James Whitsitt) and Kathleen Lear. He also survived by his brother, Timothy Killelea. John will be buried at Bloomingdale Cemetery. A Celebration of Live Service will be held on July 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Bell Shoals Church at 2102 Bell Shoals Road, Brandon, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Bell Shoals Church Pre-School and Children’s Ministry.
