STAPLES, John Forrest, 84, of Tampa, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2009. A native of Detroit, MI, and a graduate of the University of California, Berkley, he had resided in the Tampa area since 1953. He was a US Navy WW II veteran; President of Staples and Stevens Co.; Charter Director of Ft. Brooke Savings and Loan; Charter President of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Brandon; Charter member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Brandon; Charter member and Elder Emeritus of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Brandon and a long-time member of Buckhorn Golf Club. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilou; son and daughter-in-law, John D. and Sandie Staples, Fairfax Station, VA; daughter, Laurie Staples, Tarpon Springs, FL; sister, Marjorie Logue, Ada, MI and cousin, Susan Fields, Winter Park, FL.
Funeral Information
Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 402 E. Lumsden Rd., Brandon, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. Private interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
