John Charles Botts
BOTTS, John Charles, 86, of Brandon, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010. A native of Akron, OH, he had resided here for 6 years coming from Brooksville since 1989. A member of the greatest generation, he was a USMC WWII veteran and a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended Case University, Princeton University and graduated from Kent University as an Electrical Engineer. He retired from Westinghouse after 35 years and continued as a consultant for 15 years. He enjoyed golf, bridge and all other sports and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brandon and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie Botts; brother, William Botts and sister, Josephine Wolpert and is survived by his wife, Marjorie "Pat" Botts; son and daughter-in-law, John "Jack" Botts, Jr. and Teresa, Brandon, FL; daughters and sons-in-law, Jody and James Ola, Butler, PA and Beverly and Robert Sproull, Enterprise, AL; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Information
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church of Brandon, 121 Carver Ave., Brandon. There will be a reception immediately following at the church.
