Obituary for Joel E. Joiner, Sr.
Rev. Joel E. Joiner, Sr., 87, of Riverview was born 6/18/34 in Jakin, GA. He has gone on to his heaven holding to his nail scarred hand. He worked for the Clorox Co. for 41 years and will be missed by his Clorox family. He was a minister for over 60 years. He loved serving God and wouldn’t have it any other way. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Jean Mitchell Joiner; son, Joel E. Joiner, Jr.; daughter, Karen Connie Joiner; 3 granddaughters, Jennifer Wallace, Amber Herbstritt and Crystal Joiner; 9 great-grandchildren and 4 siblings, William Earl Joiner, Mary Joyce Shirley, Rebecca Goff and Georgia Ann Sheppard. He will always be remembered for his love of God and family, sense of humor and always with a smile. Anyone that knows him to have a “409” day, because “409” if better than “Fantastik”. He believed in encouraging young people and to instill that love of God in them. One of his sayings, “If you want to stay young, hang with the young people; if you want to die early, try to keep up with them”. A scholarship has been created in his name to help pay for kids to go to camp that can’t afford it. Make donations to: Pentecostal Church of God, Attn: Joel Joiner Camp Scholarship, P.O. Box 2024, Cumming, GA 30028. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, minister, brother, son, uncle, cousin, friend and overall man of God! You will be missed tremendously daddy! I love you always! You have no more pain or heartache and you can drink all the milk you want now! Don’t worry about mom, I’ll watch her here on earth and you’ll be watching her from heaven.
