Joann Fitzpatrick, a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones. Her strong spirit and deep sense of family took root in Brooklyn, NY where she was born and raised. She lived most of her adult life in New Jersey, where she started a family of her own, before moving to Florida in her later years.
Joann was the devoted wife of the late Gerard Fitzpatrick, who preceded her in death in 2022. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and unwavering family bonds. She is survived by her two sons, Christopher and his wife Monika, and Sean and his wife Cathleen, and her four adored grandchildren: Kelsea, Nora, Tobin, and Declan. She treasured every moment spent with them and took great pride in their lives and accomplishments.
Joann is also survived by her loving sister Marie and brother-in-law Carl, her nieces Jenna and Dana and their wives Emily and Jess, as well as a large extended family of cousins, in-laws, and friends. Her mother-in-law, two sisters-in-laws, and a brother-in-law also survive her, each of whom held a special place in her heart, along with their spouses and children.
Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched all who knew her. Joann had a special way of making people feel welcome and cared for. She found peace by the ocean and joy in family gatherings, where her laughter and love brought people closer together.
She will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family, her enduring strength, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in those who loved her most.
A celebration of Joann’s life will be held in her home, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember her beautiful spirit.
