Joann Marie Lipham Ferguson, 82, a lifetime residence of Tampa, FL, passed peacefully on the porch in her Happy Place on Wednesday evening November 22, 2023. Joann was born and raised in Tampa, FL and graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1959. She then went to Valdez Beauty School in Tampa while working as an Elevator girl at Grants Dept. Store in Downtown Tampa. She worked as a Dental Assistant and Receptionist and also worked as a Ward Clerk at St. Joseph's Hospital. After these brief careers she had her only son in 1968 and found her true calling. She met the love of her life Terry Ferguson in November 1976 and married on December 3,1976.They were long time members of Northgate Baptist Church where she also taught preschool for several years. Her hobbies were Garage selling, collecting Precious Moments, crafting and gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a true friend to family and all she held dear. Joann was preceded in death by her dearest Nanny, her parents, and many aunts and uncles and cousins but in 2018 she lost her soul mate, Terry Ferguson and her little dog Coco in 2021. She is survived by her beloved son, Kevin Ferguson and her loving daughter-in-law and caregiver, Glenda. Her beautiful grandchildren, Hope (Anthony) Zaccaro, Haley Ferguson, Hunter (Mia) Ferguson and Hayden Ferguson. Her true Joys of the last few years were her great-grandsons, Vincent and Shrader Zaccaro and Osbourne Ferguson and she was looking forward to a new little great-grandson, Deacon Zaccaro in March. She is also survived by many cousins and very dear friends who will love and miss her deeply. A Celebration of Life service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Southern Funeral Care, Riverview, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. While she loved flowers and we will be honored to receive them, you may also donate to LifePath Hospice in her honor.
