Janice Lynn (Scheddel) Fox passed away on May 31, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Janice was born June 19, 1949 in Bay City MI to Richard and Beatrice (Stanton) Scheddel.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Sue Scheddel, and grandson Joshua Garrett.
She is survived by a large and loving family, spouse of 55 years Robert Fox, daughters Kristin (Chuck) Fox-Barlick, Kimberly (Jason) Garrett, and Kathryn Fox.
Her grandchildren Taylor Fox, Benjamin and Charlie Barlick, Caden and Kenley Garrett, and Madelyn Fox. Her great grandchildren: Melody and Coda Fox.
Janice was an avid quilter, knitter, and prolific cross stitch artist. Genealogy was an early hobby that she spent hours combing through historical records in library basements, compiling data to share a comprehensive family tree.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother with a door that was always open to anyone in need. Christmas was her favorite time of year, with family traditions that most importantly included everyone gathering together to wake up Christmas morning and spread gifts with love and laughter.
She and her husband Bob enjoyed retirement with grandchildren and by traveling. They enjoyed Jamaica and helped fund schools in the areas they stayed. Literacy was a gift she ensured was available to everyone. Together, she and Bob also enjoyed traveling to Mexico and Alaska.
The family will hold a celebration of life on August 15, 2026 graveside at Bloomingdale Community Cemetery at 10 am.
Janice Fox made the world a more beautiful place.
