Janet Ruth Detwiler, 71, of Wimauma, FL, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
Born in Ft. Bragg, NC, she was raised in a military family and grew up on military bases around the world. She lived in Tennessee, Germany, Maryland, Japan, and New Jersey before graduating from Little Miami High School in Morrow, OH in 1970 where she met the love of her life. She had resided in Florida since 1975 after relocating from Ohio with her husband.
She worked in Quality Control for the media production company Eva-Tone for over 20 years before changing careers, and moving into the investment industry in 2008, working for Franklin Templeton until she retired in 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Clarence West and by her loving husband of 42 years, Jon Frank Detwiler.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and Jason Detwiler; brothers, James and Samuel West; sister, Debbie Ehling and 3 grandchildren.
A Celebration of her life will be held 5:30 P.M. Saturday, September 2, 2023, in Parrish, FL.
