James William Moreno, 75, of Brandon, FL, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Born into an Italian family in Queens, NY during the “baby boom”, James was the youngest of three boys, including Mike and Roger. His parents, Nick and Lilian, were kind and loving parents. At the age of 17, James and Mike joined the navy. Both participated in the Vietnam conflict and fortunately survived to return home. Unbeknownst to either, exposure to asbestos and Agent Orange would take hold of their health many years later. James and Jill were married in Tampa in 1985, then moved to Brandon in 1986. God sent their son Jonathan in 1987. The family spent 38 very wonderful years together in Brandon, growing many roots. James and Jill were still living in the same residence at the time of his passing.
James is survived by his wife Jill and their son Jonathan. In addition, he has two surviving children from a past marriage: son, Nick, with his wife Morgan and their son, Beech; daughter, Shannon, with her husband Anthony and their two sons, Matthew and Bradley. He also leaves an older brother, Roger, who currently resides in the Tampa area with his wife Jan.
A memorial service for James will be held at Southern Funeral Care on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 1 PM with visitation beginning at noon.
May he rest in peace. We love you, Jimmy.
