James Michael Hill, a kind and gentle soul, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on December 19, 1944, James lived a life full of love, faith, and devotion, leaving a legacy of kindness that will be cherished by all who knew him. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 20 years, demonstrating unwavering dedication and commitment.


James is survived by his beloved wife, Janice, who stood by his side as a devoted partner throughout their 54 years of marriage. He was the proud and loving father of Deeana and Jeff, a devoted grandfather to his granddaughters Rebekah, Hannah, Hope, and Eden (Deeana's children) as well as his grandsons Aiden and Austin (Jeff's children). His love and wisdom enriched the lives of his four great-grandchildren—Leo, Liam, Harrison, and Jolene—who were blessed by his warmth and joy.


James was a devout Christian whose faith was a cornerstone of his life. His unwavering belief in God guided his actions and inspired those around him. Known for his gentle demeanor and kind heart, James was loved by all who had the privilege of meeting him. Whether sharing a laugh, offering words of encouragement, or simply being present, he had a way of making everyone feel valued and cared for.


As we bid farewell to James, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy grounded in love, faith, and service. His enduring example of kindness and devotion to God will continue inspiring his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. Though he has left this earthly life, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior.


A service and celebration of James’s life will be held at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon, Florida, on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at 4 pm.
