Obituary for James Frank Rogers
James F. Rogers (89) was born in the small town of Parrish in Central Florida, where he lived with his Mother and Father until the age of 5. He then moved with his brother R.J. To his paternal grandparents. Even though Jimmy only had an 8th grade education he was very determined to build a better future for himself. James (lying about his age) and R.J. Joined the Army Air Corp in June of 1947 (he was just 16). While enlisted he did tours in the Philippines, Guam, Eglin AFB & Orlando. While on leave his sister Annie Mae introduced him to Marie Noble and they later married in March 1954 Jimmy & Marie welcomed two children, Larry & Karen in 1955 & 1958. They remained in Brandon, Fl for the remainder of their lives. Jimmy was so loved by anyone he encountered. His childhood struggles molded him into the most amazing husband, father, grandaddy and friend. Jimmy is survived by: Annie Mae Stephens (sister); James Larry Rogers (son); Karen Rozycki (daughter); Grandchildren: Larry Stephen Rogers, Kevin Kirk Rogers, Nicole Herrington, Heather Thomas and Alexis Mobley and 7 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Southern Funeral Care with the family receiving friends from 10:30 until service time.
