On February 27, 2026 the Lord took Jacklyn (Jackie) Padgett Staats, home to be with family who has proceeded her to the promised land. Her father Hiram (H.R.) Padgett, mother Vivian Bass Padgett, sisters; Ester Tubbs, Florence Sikes, and Deborah Brown, brothers; James (Buddy) and Ronald Padgett.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Carl, her son Carl K. Staats (Angie), daughter, Bridee Manning (Michael), and grandchildren, Kelli Hirst, Carl K. Jr, James (Buddy) Manning, MacKenzie Barlich and Austin Fields along with their 7 great grandchildren that will carry her legacy on until we are called.
Jackie was a GRITS girl, Girl Raised In The South. A product of Florida Pioneers, the Padgett and Bass clans of Okeechobee and Fort Drum areas. She consistently placed other’s before herself and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and provider. She worked outside the home; ran a tropical fish business, taught herself how to play the guitar and sang often with a band. She was a member of the Florida country music association and runner up for the female vocalist of the year.
She is loved by so many in her community and will be forever missed.
