
Iris Justiniano-Alicea passed away on June 5, 2025 at the age of 48 surrounded by family and friends. Iris was born on June 6, 1976 in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. She lived in Puerto Rico for a while before moving to Florida with her family. Iris, whose nickname was Masita, had 4 brothers and 1 sister: Ruben, William (Tango), Juan (Cuco), Sammy, and Helen. She is survived by her kids, Sophia and Carlitos, and her husband, Rafael. She now joins her brother (Sammy), her sister (Helen), and her parents in Heaven.
Iris worked for Hillsborough County Public Schools from a young age and pursued her dream career in real estate later on until she retired. She loved shopping, her Dunkin Donuts coffee, spending time with her family. She loved watching HGTV, especially Property Brothers, Fixer Upper, and Flea Market Flip. The most important thing to her was making sure her kids were okay. Additionally, her dogs were her babies and she loved to relax with them. Iris had a big heart and always loved to help those in need. She gave many donations for battered women and struggling families. She believed in doing good things and encouraged her family to do so. She was a fighter and pushed through her multiple sclerosis everyday for her loved ones.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Iris at Southern Funeral Care on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 1 PM. Immediate family is welcome at 11 AM while friends may come view from 12-1 PM. After the service, guests may visit Limona Cemetery in Brandon, Florida for Iris (Masita)’s final resting place.
