Helen "Reebo" M. Sledge
SLEDGE, Reebo, of Brandon, died on Saturday, August 9, 2014. She was born Helen Marie McMullen, September 8, 1943, in Tampa, to the late, Bill and Helen McMullen. She attended Mitchell Elementary, Wilson Jr. High and Plant High School in Tampa, and Queens College in Charlotte, NC. She was a wonderful homemaker, loving wife and mother, and a bookkeeper for McMullen Grove Co. and McMullen Dry Cleaning. Having been a member of Holy Innocents Episcopal Church since 1965, she taught Sunday school, played in the Bell Choir and worked with Meals on Wheels and Adopt-a-Family. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, George; and her beloved children, Larry (Debbie) Sledge, Jennifer (David) Mowrey, and Melissa (Alex) MacKinnon; her treasured grandchildren, Garrett, Danny and Colin Sledge, Jack and Jessica Mowrey, Lexi Zuo (Jeremiah), Mack, Annesley, Hartwell, Ben, Luke and Addisyn MacKinnon; 2 great-grandchildren, Hadassah and Ketzi; her sister, Linda Alfonso (Jim), special cousin, Elizabeth McMullen and George's extended Sledge family.
Funeral Information
A memorial service will be held at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, 604 N. Valrico Road, Valrico, 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 19, 2014, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to services. A reception will also follow at the church. Interment was held at Serenity Meadows Memorial Park.
