Obituary for Hayward Francis Summerlin
On Friday September 17th, Hayward F. Summerlin of Brandon, Florida.. Loving husband and father passed away at the age of 92. Hayward was born on July 4th,1929 to Lehman and Mrytle Summerlin in Montgomery, Alabama. After graduating from Lanier High school in Montgomery he served in the United States Army. Returning home he began working with the Atlantic Coastline Railroad and retired 40 years later with the CXS Railroad.. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Martha M. Summerlin. Together they raised two children, Karen (Kirk) Lakeman Dawsonville, Georgia. Woody (Diane) Summerlin Brandon, Florida. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Morgan (Kyle) McGee, Davis Lakeman, Brooke (Chas) Hopee, Cody ( Kelsey Matuszak) Summerlin. A Memorial Service will be held at Southern Funeral Care on October 23 at 10: 00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Hayward's name to the Alzheimer's Association or Lifepath Hospice.
