Obituary for Harry William Dunlap
Harry William Dunlap, fondly known as “Uncle Harry” or “Poppi”, was born January 31, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA. He passed into the arms of Jesus on September 9, 2020 in Valrico, FL. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Day Ayers Dunlap; children, Dawn Valerie Henshaw and son, Michael Edward Dunlap, and his wife, Lynn Marie Dunlap; grandsons, Colton Harry Henshaw, Jacob Neil (Andrea Whitney) and granddaughter, Cassady Grace Henshaw; great-grandchildren, Hunter Grace Henshaw, Colton Harry Henshaw Jr., Caleigh Jeanne Henshaw, Elliot Liora Henshaw and Cameron Jeanne Henshaw and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his great grandson, Levi Jensen Henshaw; parents, Harry Wilson Dunlap and Marie Haid Dunlap and his four sisters, Harriette Ohnhaus (Bill), Elvira Schessler (Bill), Lillian Topping (Bud) and Esther Wannstedt (Bill). A resident of Brandon since 1966, he was very active at Nativity Catholic Church and School, Carnival Committee, Men’s Club, Bingo Chairman, Knights of Columbus and served as Scoutmaster for Troop 89 for 23 years. He was also active in the Strawberry Ridge HOA, Woodshop Club and the Veterans Club. After serving 4 years in the United States Air Force as an aircraft engine mechanic, he was with Kaiser Agricultural Chemical Company for 23 years as a production supervisor. He was also a Realtor with Burnett & Curry Realty and was dubbed “the biggest realtor in town” by Derrell Curry. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
