Obituary for Gian Angelo Massaro

Gian Angelo Massaro, 61, of Brandon, Florida, was born in Tampa on November 22, 1963, and entered eternal rest on September 11, 2025.

Gian was a devoted brother to his four sisters and a proud 1981 graduate of Brandon High School. He dedicated 29 years of his career as a pharmacy technician. Deeply connected to his Sicilian heritage, Gian spent much of his life researching family history and exploring other areas of the past. He found joy in traveling, cooking, tending his yard, and dining out with those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Angie Massaro; and his grandparents, Gian Battista and Adelina Massaro and Angelo and Bessie Ferlita.

Gian is survived by his loving sisters: Sandra Kolterman (Bruce), Patricia Cribb (Stephen), Gina Monte (Joe), and Michele Massaro. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews: Joseph Monte, Bryan Kolterman (Taylor), Cristina Davis (Taylor), and Hannah Cribb; as well as his beloved great-nieces, Rodell and Louisa Kolterman. He leaves behind two aunts, Lily Fazio and Marie Elena Massaro, along with many cousins and extended family who loved him deeply.

Gian’s love for his family shone brightly through the special relationships he nurtured with each of them. His presence, laughter, and devotion will be forever missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Gian’s memory.

There will be a Memorial Mass at Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon, Florida, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Followed by a private burial.
