Geraldine Vera (Gerry) Green, age 93, graduated to her homecoming to Glory Land to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Geraldine was born in Gary, WV on April 21, 1930, to Bethel Marion and Sadie Ann Stevenson.
Geraldine was a long-time member of Brandon Baptist Tabernacle Church in Brandon, FL. She dedicated her life witnessing to everyone, including her family about the Lord and Savior. She made visits to nursing homes and gave with her heart to anyone in need. If she met you one time, then she would make sure to show up for anything you needed, including your funeral and would always put fresh flowers at the grave.
She is survived by her brother: George Stevenson, (West Virginia); sister-in-law Dean Blizzard (West Virginia); children: Janie Marie Stephens (Florida), George W. Green, Jr. (Butch & Carol Ann), of Tennessee, and Carol McCally (Larry), of Michigan; grandchildren: Andrea (Matt) Vogel, Chad (Michele) Garver, Heather (Tim) Swart, Angela (Matt) Woodham, Lisa Kay (Braucht) Walters, Joshua (Charity) Green; 16 great-grandchild, and 1 great-great- grandchild. Geraldine also has many nephews and nieces that called her Aunt Gerry across the United States. She had a special bond and love for all of them.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years: George W. Green, Sr.; her parents: Bethel Marion and Sadie Ann Stevenson; her brothers: Samuel Woodrow Stevenson, Bill Edison Stevenson, twins (boy & girl); her sisters: Thelma Jane Stevenson, Gladys Mae England, Eva Roberts Proper; son-in-law James Hugh Stephens; grandchild: Kenny Garver; and great-grandchildren: Wyatt Matthew and Waylan James Woodham.
A visitation will be on Monday, May 15, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will begin 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at her home church Brandon Baptist Tabernacle Church, 1118 N. Parson Ave, Brandon, FL 33510, followed by burial service at Garden of Memories on 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
The family asks anyone attending the visitation, service, or the cemetery to refrain from wearing perfume and/or lotion. We have a family member that is highly allergic and would prefer not to go to the hospital due to someone wearing perfume or lotion. Thank you.
