George Kosan, 96, of Seffner, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023. A native of Lorain, OH, he resided in eastern Hillsborough County most of his lifetime. He served in the US Army during WWII, attended Seffner Presbyterian Church, was a member of Brandon Masonic Lodge #114, Tampa Scottish Rite, taught in the Hillsborough County School System and was a charter faculty member at HCC from which he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his family, landscaping, grilling, reading, and making pinecone wreaths. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo; son, Rick Kosan and his wife Karen; daughter, Kathy DePizzo and her husband Frank, and daughter Jennifer Friebolin and her husband Erik; and 5 grandgirls – Angela DePizzo, Rachel Kosan, Elizabeth Kosan, Alexandra Friebolin, and Gabby Friebolin. Graveside service will be held at Seffner Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. A memorial service will be held at the Seffner Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, immediately followed by a reception and visitation with his family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Seffner Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
