Gary John Leino, 71, of Brandon, FL passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Gary was born to Uuno and
Agnes Leino, in Jacksonville, FL where he spent his early childhood years. He spent his middle and high
school years in Keystone Heights, FL, and attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he
married Lynn in 1972.
Gary’s career began as an electrical engineer at TECO, and then went on to work for Progress Energy and
Duke Energy. He was a member of Bell Shoals Church. Music was Gary’s passion, and he was well known
for his extraordinary voice and enjoyed sharing his faith through singing in the choir, quartets, and solos.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, water sports, traveling, and was a lifelong fan of the Florida Gators.
Gary loved spending time with his family, especially when sitting in front of a warm fire in a mountain
cabin. Gary loved to laugh and even through hard times never lost his sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving wife Lynn Leino; daughter Kimberly Leino; sons Daniel (Abbie) Leino, David
Leino, Jordan (Shanda) Leino; brother Paul (Erica) Leino; 8 grandchildren, Rebecca Law, Sarah (Daniel)
Deusinger, Ian Stephenson, Travis Stephenson, Eliana Leino, Evan Leino, Allie Foles, and Nick Foles.
A service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, in the Chapel at Bell Shoals Church, 2102 Bell Shoals
Road, Brandon, FL 33511. Family will be receiving friends at 10:00 am, with the service following at
11:00 am. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Jacksonville
Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32073.
